Dear School Administrator:
Thank
you for considering my request to student teach in your district. My name is
Darcie Malcom and I am currently a senior at Dakota State University. In May 2005, I graduated from Armour High
School and I currently live in Brookings, South Dakota. I commute to Dakota
State University pursuing my degree in Elementary Education with a K-12
Technology Endorsement.
Even
as a young child I saw myself as a teacher. As a future teacher, I know that I
will be a lifelong learner and I am very committed to learning. Through my past years in school, I have
learned many methods and forms of teaching and realize that as a future teacher,
my job will be to teach my students to the best of their ability. I want to be a
positive influence to all my students.
While attending
Dakota State University, I have had the opportunity to teach in a variety of
classrooms and use many different methods of teaching. I have also helped in administering and
interpreting students using both the Bader and DIBELS testing. I have also experienced the use of new
technology in the classroom such a Google Maps, Smart boards, and Microsoft
Office programs.
I
am requesting my student teaching near the Brookings district where my husband and
I hope to start a family there someday. I really enjoy living in this area and
hope to possibly teach in this vicinity after graduation. Please feel free to visit my website
which is: http://www.students.dsu.edu/ddlaib4715/ or email me at ddlaib4715pluto.dsu.edu. On my website you will be able to learn
more about my management plan for my future classroom, all my field
experiences, and view my resume.
Thank you for taking your time to consider me as a student teacher. I
look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Darcie Malcom
